According to the Web site, books are challenged "to protect others, frequently children, from difficult ideas and information." A challenge means there is a movement to restrict or prohibit the reading of a book by a parent or group, whereas a ban means the book has been removed from a library or school curriculum.

Driving on Interstate 80 in Fairfield can be a chore. If it isn't lane closures slowing down traffic, it's the presence of police vehicles, worker vehicles, or rubberneckers trying to see what's going on. Included now in much of the chaos is a plan that is meant to relieve some of it: carpool lanes are coming to Fairfield.

The 2008 Giants will not be remembered for great baseball, but rather this season will be remembered for Tim Lincecum, the absence of Barry Bonds and the continual robbery that Barry Zito is getting away with.
If historians ever look back upon this team they will not have many positive things to say about it, but just as Rome was not built in a day, neither are championship teams.
