HERCULES - Defensive mishaps and costly mistakes on offense continue to plague the Contra Costa College football team this season, as the team dropped another game, this one to De Anza College 61-28 here on Saturday.

The contest was the Comets' (0-4 overall, 0-0 in the Bay Valley Conference) fourth non-conference game.

The Spartan club hockey team got off to a slow start this weekend, with back-to-back losses to the Weber State Wildcats on Friday and Saturday.

The Wildcats scored once in each period of the first game on Friday, building up a commanding lead.

The Spartans fought hard, managing to score in the third, but it wasn't enough overcome the Wildcats.

of San Jose.

"We started SJFixed with five riders and last week had a record 57 people riding with us," said Mark Cosio, a senior marketing major.

The Bulldogs rode their defense to a 14-9 win over Chabot in their home opener Saturday, September 13 improving to 2-0 on the year.

Though CSM allowed Chabot to march down the field on their first possession of the game, their defense would prove to bend but not break.
